DESIGNED FOR PARTICIPATION. SHAPED FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE ROOM.
CCPF does not offer a rigid program menu.
We begin by understanding the audience, setting and cultural subject. We then shape an experience through storytelling, demonstration, making, tasting and reflection.
POSSIBLE WAYS TO PARTICIPATE
TEA TASTING
Explore hospitality, seasonal customs and memory through the preparation and sharing of tea.
CALLIGRAPHY
Encounter Chinese characters through brush, ink, movement and meaning.
FOOD PREPARATION
Make a simple cultural food while learning about its symbolism, history and place in family tradition.
ARTS AND CRAFT
Enter Chinese festivals, legends and visual traditions through paper-cutting, lantern-making, colouring or other creative activities.
STORYTELLING AND PRESENTATION
Explore Chinese history, mythology, festivals and contemporary culture through visual stories and guided conversation.
ONE EXPERIENCE MAY COMBINE SEVERAL FORMATS.
A Lunar New Year project might begin with the story of Nian, continue through calligraphy and paper-cutting, and conclude with food preparation or tasting.
A smaller gathering might centre on tea, family memory and conversation.

The format depends on:
• The audience
• The cultural subject
• The space and time available
• Accessibility and safety requirements
• What the host hopes participants will remember
WHAT REMAINS
FOR THE AUDIENCE
• Food or something made by hand
• A memorable cultural story
• Firsthand cultural experience
• Greater knowledge and understanding
• A personal or shared memory
FOR THE PROJECT
• Participant reflections
• Photographs or video
• A short project story or digital zine
• Learning for the next collaboration
Documentation is always guided by context, consent and respect.
