Sharing Heritage Through Community Service

All Nations · Sandwich Making & Dumpling Outreach

CCPF brought children, volunteers, and community program staff together to prepare sandwiches and dumplings in support of people experiencing homelessness—combining practical care with opportunities to share Chinese food traditions.

Children participated as both young volunteers and cultural ambassadors, learning about their heritage and sharing it with those working alongside them. Through food preparation, conversation, and collaboration, cultural exchange extended across the network of volunteers and community workers who helped make the outreach possible.

Documenting a Legacy of Community Care

All Nations Outreach · Documentary Production & Website Development

CCPF undertook a full documentary project for All Nations Outreach, creating the organization’s first formal documentary record of its work supporting people experiencing homelessness.

Through interviews with key figures within the organization, participating volunteers, and local workers who witnessed its outreach firsthand, we documented the people, dedication, and everyday acts of care behind its service. The film brought together perspectives from within the organization and the surrounding community, preserving a story that had never before been recorded in this way.

Alongside the documentary, CCPF developed a website to give All Nations Outreach a dedicated platform to share its work and connect with the wider community.

Connecting Cultures Through Food & Service

All Nations · Sandwich Making & Zongzi Outreach

CCPF combined sandwich making and zongzi preparation and deliveries with All Nations, supporting the essential food needs of people experiencing homelessness while creating opportunities for cultural exchange among those taking part.

Zongzi—traditional Chinese sticky rice dumplings—offered a starting point for children to learn about and share their heritage. Working alongside volunteers and community program staff, young participants brought Chinese food traditions into a shared act of service.

The initiative engaged more than those receiving meals: it connected children, volunteers, and community workers through hands-on participation, making cultural sharing part of the experience of caring for others.

WHAT EACH PROJECT TEACHES US

We document selected projects to understand what the audience experienced, what contributors learned and what should be carried into the next collaboration.

If your school or organization has an audience interested in Chinese culture, we would be glad to explore what an experience could become in your setting.
